Michelangelo Winklaar focuses on the individual with a penchant for pure materials, structure, nuances, shape, and an eye for detail. "I am a philosophy designer. My designs are born from color palettes, history, and culture, always driven by a creative curiosity: What if?" This continuous exploration translates vision into daily life, allowing Michelangelo Winklaar to express his state of mind through a Winklaar design. "Inspired by refined, old-school crafts, I choose to stand apart from the fast-fashion cycle. Since 2013, I have dedicated myself to taking the time required to create valuable, slow-fashion collections. I believe in timeless designs that endure, to be cherished and perhaps even passed down to the next generation."

Having designed women’s clothing since his childhood, Michelangelo Winklaar's life’s work is rooted in an innate understanding and absolute respect for the female form. "Strength knows no age. Beauty is timeless. Bespoke tailoring is designed for the woman who knows exactly who she is."
As a designer, Michelangelo Winklaar's role is to be your technical ally. "In my atelier, your comfort and privacy are my highest priority. Together, we create a welcoming, professional space where your confidence is built. A couture garment can impress colleagues, competitors, or even a groom. But in a Michelangelo Winklaar design, you wear it entirely for yourself."

Atelier M.W. Michelangelo Winklaar stands for fair trade and ethical working conditions. All garments are entirely made in the Netherlands. We carefully source our premium fabrics within Europe or develop them by hand inside our own studio in The Hague, collaborating exclusively with partners who respect their artisans.

Every made-to-measure piece is completely unique, tailored perfectly to your size and personal style. Our process is collaborative and highly personalized:

The Consultation: We discuss your vision, the occasion, silhouettes, and materials. Measurements are taken, and your fabric is chosen from our curated in-house selection of wool, silk, and linen, or sourced from top European suppliers.

The Toile Fitting: To ensure a flawless fit, a mock-up (toile) is crafted from basic fabric. This allows us to refine the pattern and design directly on your body before cutting the final luxury textile.

The Final Creation: Once the fitting is perfected, your unique garment is meticulously molded, draped, and completed by hand within a few weeks.
