impaired to experience couture, premiered in museum Escher in Het Paleis 2021 in The Hague, The Netherlands

In honor of The Fashionweek, De Bijenkorf organizes an exhibition with Touchable Fashion of the Dutch-Curacaoan designer Michelangelo Winklaar.


Inspired by his visually impaired mother, Winklaar is developing an experimental exhibition in which he will in which he allows blind and visually impaired people to experience a fashion collection by touch. While a fashion collection in a museum should not be touched, Winklaar invites the public to use their sense of touch. invites the public to use their sense of touch.

During this event, couture pieces were made available to introduce visitors to Michelangelo Winklaar's developments and experience what to expect from the couturier. These couture pieces were on display in the shop windows and on the second floor in the women's department of the luxury department store.
